Construction of a new Retreat Center for spiritual training is in progress.......

Glories of Mother Cow

Have you considered how amazing the cow is- she eats only grass, but she gives back in abundance in the form of her nutritious milk.

“The body can be maintained by any kind of foodstuff, but cow's milk is particularly essential for developing the finer tissues of the human brain so that one can understand the intricacies of transcendental knowledge.”

- A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada

Not just her milk, but her by-products are also very useful: Gobar gas, organic farming, and several medicinal products are just a few of the many uses provided by the by-products of cows. If you have spent some time with cows, you would have surely experienced their tender love.

"The Supreme Lord, Lord Krishna enjoys the most as a cowherd boy in Goloka. Because it is the home of the cows and cowherd people, Lord Krishna’s abode is called by the name “Goloka” (the world of the cows)".

The exchange of love between Lord Krishna and His dear cows is so sweet and attractive!

One of the purposes of our Goshala is to give people an opportunity to perform Goseva and get a glimpse of that love which is experienced in Krishna’s Goloka!

“Simply by protection of cows all the wonderful benefits of religiosity and piety will be automatically achieved without any separate endeavour. This is because cows are as beloved to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna, as even saintly brahmanas.”

- A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada

Even modern science is now recognising the glory of mother cow. Apart from her nourishing milk, and her valuable by-products that are used in agriculture and medicine, just being in her very presence has been found to be extremely therapeutical. Since cows by nature are calm, gentle, and patient, just by being with them, caressing and hugging them, one immediately experiences deep tranquillity. Such proximity with the cows deeply calm oneself on a subtle level, and hence lower blood pressure, regulate the body's metabolism, immune and stress response.

We heartily welcome all of you to come and spend time with our cows and serve them. You can feed them with fresh grass and caress them - they love it… and you will too!
